Saab Aviocomp and Embraer Sign Service Center Agreement


LINKOPING, Sweden, April 1, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Saab Aviocomp AB has signed an agreement with Embraer Aviation International under which it becomes an authorized service center for the maintenance of components installed on aircraft manufactured by Embraer, primarily ERJ135/140/145 and EMB120 Brasilia.

"We are pleased that Embraer has selected Saab Aviocomp to provide aircraft component maintenance services for themselves and their customers' aircraft," said Jan-Ingvar Johansson, President of Saab Aviocomp AB.

Johansson continued: "This agreement builds on our position as a leading component service facility for regional/commuter aircraft in Europe."

Saab Aviocomp AB offers a complete "ERJ nose to tail concept," which has for example resulted in the recently signed agreement with Skyways Express for component repair and overhaul services, component engineering as well as material supply and logistics services for the airline's fleet of ERJ145.

At present there are more than 150 aircraft of the ERJ135/145 models delivered in Europe by Embraer. Total orders for European operators today is 223 aircraft with 130 additional options.

Saab Aviocomp AB is active in the maintenance and repair of components for medium-sized civil aircraft. Customers consist of a large number of airline companies around the world.
