Telia and Telenor Enter into Multimillion Euro Network Deal


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 12, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telia International Carrier (Telia IC) is to become main supplier to Telenor's European network. The decision is based upon the fact that Telia IC is one of the few remaining suppliers in the market. Telia IC become Telenor's main supplier of capacity and IP-transit to their European net. The total order value is several million euros.

The relation between Telenor and Telia IC goes back many years and has also played an important part in the process.

To Telia IC the incumbent Telenor is a prioritised customer as they are financially stable and committed to the market on long term.

To Telenor's millions of customers using the net daily connectivity is home safe. Today's deal with capacity and IP-transit concern customers in New York, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo.

Facts: Telia IC provides Telenor with IP-transit and capacity services. Capacity is from 155 Mbps up to 2,5 Gbps. IP-transit concern multiple STM-4.
