In a separate development the Company has been listed on the Berlin Stock Exchange under the symbol "GS5." This European listing will provide investors in the Company's stock in Europe improved access to trading in the Company's securities in Euros.
Golden Star has a 90% interest in the Bogoso/Prestea open-pit gold mine in Ghana, a 45% managing interest in the Prestea underground mine in Ghana, and is in the process of acquiring a 90% interest in the Wassa gold project in Ghana. In addition, the Company has other gold exploration interests in the Guiana Shield in South America and in West Africa. Golden Star has approximately 83 million shares outstanding and is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol "GSC" and on The American Stock Exchange under the symbol "GSS."
