VALBY, Denmark, September 26, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- At their meeting today, the board of directors of the Carlsberg Foundation elected Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Royal Danish School of Pharmacy Dr. Povl Krogsgaard-Larsen chairman of the board of directors as of January 1, 2003.
Professor Povl Krogsgaard-Larsen succeeds Professor, D.Econ. Poul Chr. Matthiessen as chairman. Professor Poul Chr. Matthiessen retires on December 31, 2002, due to age, but continues as chairman of the board of directors of Carlsberg A/S until the general assembly in the spring of 2003.
