In September 2002 the number of passengers Increased by 3.4%


COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Oct. 4, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- In September 2002 the total number of passengers shows an increase of 3.4% compared to the same month in 2001. The development for the first nine months of 2002 shows a decrease of 0.7% compared to the same period last year.

In the month of September 2002 the number of international scheduled passengers increased by 6.4%. The accumulated figure of the first nine months of 2002 shows that international scheduled passengers has increased by 1.7% compared to the same period last year.

In September 2002 the number of international charter passengers decreased by 13.1%. The accumulated figure of the first nine months of 2002 shows that international charter passengers has decreased by 14.6% compared to 2001.

In the month of September 2002 the number of domestic passengers decreased by 8.3%. The accumulated figure of the first nine months of 2002 shows that domestic passengers has decreased by 9.2% compared to the same period last year.

In September 2002 the total number of takeoffs and landings has decreased by 5.5%, while the tonnage shows a decrease by 4.1%. The accumulated figure of the first nine months of 2002 shows that takeoffs and landings decreased by 9.7% while the tonnage decreased by 6.4%.

This development shall be considered in the light of the traffic decrease following September 11 last year.
