Panel to Include Auditor, Attorney and Insurance Executive

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Los Angeles Chapter of Financial Executives International will host a special panel presentation addressing responsibility and liability of financial officers at its monthly dinner meeting program to be held at the Jonathan Club this Thursday evening, October 17, 2002.

The organization's professional development session, scheduled for 5:00 p.m., prior to the dinner meeting program, will depart from its normal format to allow for an expanded discussion of the legal and personal liability issues facing executives, particularly in light of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

Jack Friedman, chairman of the Directors Roundtable, will moderate the professional development session and the after-dinner program. The panel includes Tom Hughes, partner with Deloitte & Touche; Michael Donahue, partner with Holland & Knight; and insurance executive Brett Sadoff with National Union.

"The corporate, legal and political landscape has changed dramatically, with financial officers now facing considerable new challenges as a direct result of the high-profile events that are in the news daily. Our panel of experts will address a wide variety of scenarios on issues that are sure to elicit numerous questions and options from our audience of financial executives," said Jay Panzica, president of the Los Angeles Chapter of Financial Executives International.
