Consolidated turnover at 30 September 2002 CHF 631.3 million + 3.2%

Consolidated turnover for the nine months ending 30 September 2002 was CHF 631.3 million against CHF 611.5 million in Q3 2001, representing a year-on-year rise of 3.2% or 2.7% in constant terms.

Despite the turmoil on world financial markets, overall revenues continued to rise, on the back of strong growth in the Group’s currency options and equity derivatives sectors.  The situation was less encouraging in interest rate products, which account for 68.3% of consolidated revenues.  These were down 3% at the end of September, negatively impacted by low volatility that has been a feature of the interest rate markets since the start of the year.

Third quarter turnover stood at CHF 197.4 million against CHF 203.1 million in Q3 2001, a drop of 2.8%. In constant terms, turnover for the period showed a rise of 5.2% over the same period last year.
