Jaakko Pöyry Group awarded mill engineering for Metso Paper's board making line delivery to China


JP Engineering Ltd, which belongs to the Jaakko Pöyry Group’s Forest Industry business group, has been awarded a mill engineering assignment for the board making line to be delivered to Ningbo, Zhejiang, China, by Metso Paper. The total contract value is about EUR 6 million.
 
The mill engineering comprises process, electrical and control system engineering as well as piping and mechanical engineering for the stock preparation systems and board machine. JP Engineering’s contract is expected to become effective in January 2003 after completion of the financial arrangements. The assignment will be recorded in the order stock of the Forest Industry business group after it has become effective.
 
Metso Paper’s delivery will comprise a complete board making line, including a complete stock preparation system with eight lines, a complete board machine, air systems and machine hall cranes as well as mill engineering. The new line will be the largest board production line in the world with the capacity of over 2,000 tons a day of white lined chipboard (WLC) from recycled fiber. Metso Paper’s client is Ning Shing Development Co.
 
The Forest Industry business group, operating under the brand name Jaakko Pöyry, had net sales of EUR 150 million in 2001. The Forest Industry business group has offices in 12 countries and employs some 2000 experts worldwide.
