New Novel `Full Blue' Offers Intense and Insightful Glimpse into NYPD

NEW YORK, Dec. 5, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Popular television shows such as NYPD Blue have increased America's interest in and respect for the men and women of the New York City Police Department. Now author Ivan Diaz brings the drama and excitement of the TV program onto the page. His new novel, "Full Blue" (now available from 1stBooks Library), is an action-packed romp through the back alleys and seedy underbelly of "The City that Never Sleeps."

Protagonist Mitchell Leon is a socially compassionate NYPD detective who resides on NYC's Lower East Side. When he is unwillingly drawn into a high-profile homicide and corrupt election case, his life and career are placed in serious jeopardy.

Popular magazine writer, Max Muir, is murdered in his office at Surreal Society Magazine. Put on the case, Mitchell is determined to find the guilty party, but the path to truth and justice is fraught with dangerous characters and deceitful lies. From Max's 'calendar girl' wife Tori Townsend, to international terrorist Franco Noric, to a host of FBI and Secret Service agents, Mitchell's task is a daunting one. Will he solve the case and save himself? Or will he fall victim to the inextricable web of deception?
