Most of his writings are based on personal accounts of those who have experienced different types of "celestial intervention" in their lives. Each verse speaks of God's presence and unconditional love. In the poem titled "I Cry," Lavende writes, "Sometimes when I am alone I cry,/ Sometimes when I pray I cry,/ Whenever I think of you Lord I cry,/ For my desire is your love,/ And then I cry,/ But my cries are not in vain,/ And my cries do not bring me pain,/ But I cry,/ For my cries bring out my love,/ And then I cry,/ I feel good when I cry,/ For my cry brings me closer to you Lord."
"Spiritual Poems and Inspirational Quotes" also shows the author's positive outlook in life brought about by his immense faith in God. In "The Visitor," Lavende sees the beauty in simple things. He writes, "A bird came to my window one day/ And stood there on my window-bay/ I know not why he came to me/ A pleasing visitor for my eyes to see/ Is it a message from up above?"
Author Don Lavende is a senior member of The Lighted Stairway. The purpose of this group, Lavende says, is to give inspirational and spiritual intervention to all seekers.
