Nokia Announces Next-Generation Intrusion Protection with RealSecure 7.0 for Nokia

Mountain View, Calif. - Nokia (NYSE:NOK) today announced the availability of its latest perimeter protection solution, RealSecure® 7.0 for Nokia, the next-generation in network intrusion protection. The RealSecure for Nokia solution tightly integrates Nokia's purpose-built, dedicated and easy-to-manage network security appliance with Internet Security System, Inc.'s (ISS) (Nasdaq: ISSX) network intrusion protection technology, offering significant benefits over traditional intrusion detection options.

"RealSecure 7.0 for Nokia offers the advanced intrusion detection technology our customers are asking for," said Jody Brazil, Chief Technology Officer, Fishnet Security. "Nokia continues to provide the highest level of quality, with a simplified way of deploying and managing this superior intrusion detection technology."

RealSecure 7.0 for Nokia delivers new and improved capabilities for monitoring large amounts of network activity, including, high-speed detection, advanced protocol analysis, and active blocking to automatically detect and respond to attacks. RealSecure for Nokia intrusion protection agents now also feature enhanced kill performance, providing even faster TCP active threat response. Kills provide automated attack response and connection termination for many attacks, including Internet worms such as Nimda and Code Red.  RealSecure for Nokia agents can also monitor up to three network segments simultaneously, maximizing an organization's hardware investment.

"RealSecure 7.0 for Nokia elevates intrusion protection to a higher level that delivers the most advanced, manageable and easy-to-use appliance available today," said Dan MacDonald, vice president of product management and marketing, Nokia Internet Communications. "Nokia is committed to enabling businesses of all sizes to optimize their network capabilities by providing industry leading network perimeter protection systems such as RealSecure 7.0 for Nokia, an essential in ensuring a secure and productive networking environment."

RealSecure 7.0 for Nokia represents the complete integration of RealSecure and BlackICETM network intrusion protection technologies resulting from ISS' acquisition of the Network ICE Corporation. It includes sophisticated protocol analysis and anomaly detection combined with the power of RealSecure's unmatched library of signature based detection capabilities to support up to 100mb network segments. The new 7.0 release also delivers response capabilities that enable customers to successfully deflect attacks by active network session termination and to provide forensic data by logging both events and raw packets.

"RealSecure for Nokia solutions free valuable human resources to concentrate on addressing problems rather than simply identifying them," said Greg Adams, director of product management of Internet Security Systems, Inc. "Our strategic relationship with Nokia continues to evolve, resulting in the creation of new, robust, easy-to-use, and inherently secure appliance solutions that proactively protect our customers from the latest security threats."

RealSecure SiteProtector(TM) and Nokia Horizon Manager are ideal complements to the overall management requirements for the RealSecure for Nokia products. While SiteProtector functions as the centralized application management system, unifying the management of network, server, and desktop protection under a single system, Nokia Horizon Manager provides critical platform management services such as IPSO operating system upgrades and RealSecure software backup and restore.

RealSecure 7.0 for Nokia is now globally available for download on the Nokia and ISS web sites (www.nokia.com and www.iss.net). It begins shipping in April on Nokia IP120 platforms and higher.
