We're Going Back to the Great Plaza -- Penn's Landing Returns to the Expansive Waterfront Location and Plans Events for Two Sites in 2003!

PHILADELPHIA, May 1, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Philadelphia Waterfront is bursting with activity in the Summer of 2003 with new attractions and festival highlights on two locations! Yes, JAM on the River and many other popular waterfront festivals are...going back to the Great Plaza, at Columbus Boulevard and Chestnut Street! With spectacular water views, all age guests will relish the music, the food and the fun at JAM on the River, Singer-Songwriter Weekend, the Big Band Series, PECO Multicultural Festival, WJJZ Smooth Jazz Series, Labor Day Concert and Fireworks with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops and Sippin' by the River -- by the Delaware River. Festival Pier, at Columbus Boulevard and Spring Garden Street, will be filled with fantastic festivals and events with the Ice Cream Festival, the Summer of Latin Soul Series, Sippin' By the River, and presented there where there is plenty of space for everyone to participate.

"There is much more activity on the waterfront this summer," said Dominic Sabatini, president of Penn's Landing Corporation. "We need the expanded space to accommodate all our plans. We actually see Penn's Landing as the Philadelphia Waterfront District with events taking place both north and south of the Ben Franklin Bridge. Plus, we are very proud of our many new attractions including the nationally successful Ride the Ducks amphibious sightseeing tours and the Moshulu re-opening on its new location of the Penn's Landing Marina. The Spirit of Philadelphia has been named the best of its kind in America and the Chart House is making new improvements and renovations. People will want to be down on the waterfront to eat, to enjoy the festivals and concerts and the activities."

Independence Blue Cross is the presenting sponsor of the 2003 Summer Season at Penn's Landing. Penn's Landing family of sponsors for the 2003 Summer Season also includes: Commerce Bank, US Airways, Pennsylvania Lottery, PECO Energy, and Deer Park Water.
