ROBECO: JAAP VAN DUIJN APPOINTED CHIEF STRATEGIST

As of 1 September 2003, Jaap van Duijn will resign as member of the Executive Board of Robeco Groep N.V., as fund manager of the fund Robeco, and as Chief Investment Officer Europe. This year he will celebrate his sixtieth birthday and has been working at Robeco for twenty years, eight of which as manager of the fund Robeco. At the request of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board he will still be linked to Robeco. As Chief Strategist he will continue to analyze the economy and financial markets, represent Robeco in the media, through publications and in lectures, and to manage the Robeco Economic Recovery fund. Jaap van Duijn: "Investing is what I love to do most. Working together with Robeco's fund managers, the contacts with clients and managing the Robeco fund has always been most fulfilling, in both good and bad times. I will always be interested in the stock market and the economy, and I am very pleased to continue managing Robeco Economic Recovery, especially now that the global economy is picking up again. At the same time I am looking forward to having more time for my other interests after all these years with Robeco."

Managing director of the business unit Robeco Asset Management, Marnix Vriezen (35), will be appointed Chief Investment Officer Europe, chairman of the Investment Policy Committee and head of the Investments & Account Management (IAM) department. Vriezen: "Robeco is the founder of systematic and disciplined investing supported by quantitative and qualitative models. The experience of generations of portfolio managers is represented in this process. It is my ambition to make a further contribution, resulting in excellent products and service for our clients."

The current head of IAM, Bas Vliegenthart (56), will continue to manage the fixed-income fund Rorento and will support commercial activities in the institutional and the retail market. Bas Vliegenthart: "After 17 years of management responsibility, the time has come to hand the baton over to the younger generation. I am sure it will be in good hands with Marnix Vriezen, who is a true Robeco man. I will now be able to devote all my attention to Rorento again, the fund which I have been managing for 14 years."

Mark Glazener (41) will succeed Jaap van Duijn as manager of the Robeco fund. Glazener is already van Duijn's deputy in the management of Robeco. Glazener: "I have dedicated my working life to analyzing businesses and investing in stocks which can earn money for our clients. Since I have joined Robeco in 1986, I have helped establish a solid investment process with my fellow portfolio managers, and have been putting this into practice for various funds and for Rolinco for some years now. It is a great honor for me to have the opportunity to do this for the Robeco fund as well." A new manager will be appointed for Rolinco in due course.
