SKF gained new railway contract for slewing bearings in Mexico


GOTEBORG, Sweden, Aug. 19, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- SKF's (Nadsdaq:SKFR) (LSE:SKFB) slewing bearings have been chosen by the leading railway system supplier Bombardier Transportation, for the new generation of metro cars for Mexico City.

SKF has offered a package based on high performance SKF slewing bearings as well as technical, commercial and after sales customer service.

The new rolling stock, 45 trains consisting of 9 wagons each, for the Metro Mexico, will be equipped with SKF slewing bearings. SKF has been working in close co-operation with Bombardier Transportation to select the optimum solution with regard to safety, comfort and length of maintenance-free service.
