Northrop Grumman Employee Selected to Lead Industry Quality Group

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug. 25, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- David Eagan, director of Production Quality for Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Integrated Systems sector, has been elected chairman of the Americas Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG), an organization of senior quality managers from major aerospace companies in North, South and Central America.

AAQG develops and publishes quality assurance standards and guidelines for use throughout the aerospace industry. It developed AS 9100, a supplement to the internationally recognized ISO 9000 quality system, which is quickly becoming the required quality system description for the industry.

"AAQG works to provide companies with the tools they need to meet the escalating quality expectations of their customers," said Eagan. "We view our customers and every tier in the aerospace supply chain as teammates in our pursuit of developing processes that ensure top quality aerospace products."

AAQG is dedicated to establishing common quality standards, requirements, tools and techniques; improving processes to deliver consistently high-quality products; supporting initiatives to improve quality performance and reduce cost, particularly those in the supply chain; and sharing results and improving cooperation between companies.

As part of the global International Aerospace Quality Group, AAQG works to harmonize quality standards and processes throughout the world. Northrop Grumman has been active in both groups since their inception.
