Last night, Wednesday 25 February, the first ever dedicated BAFTA Games Awards took place, recognizing and celebrating the outstanding achievements of the games industry over the past year.
There were 21 categories to be decided, from best action game to best in game music, strategy to sport and everything else in between making for a very competitive evening.
The mobile game category was contested by 6 highly innovative titles showcasing the best and brightest in mobile gaming, which is now the games industry's fastest growing sector. In the end however there could be only one winner: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the Nokia N-Gage (Activision, Neversoft Entertainment & Ideaworks3D).
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater on the N-Gage offers gamers a totally new and unique experience with wireless multiplayer gaming via both local Bluetooth and wide area GPRS networking. With the N-Gage TM Arena, wireless gaming community, for the first time, mobile gamers can play, share and compete head-to-head to show off their skating skills. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for N-Gage is unique in the Tony Hawk's series - allowing players to create and instantly share their own in-game skate videos with other players around the world.
