Kemira Oyj, Kemira GrowHow Oy, Kemira Pigments Oy and PIC Engineering Oyj have reached an agreement on the sale of Kemira's entire holding in Kemira Engineering Oy to PIC Engineering Oyj.
Kemira Engineering Oy has been operating within the Kemira Group as an inhouse engineering company which provides service in investment planning and completion in the Group's business areas. Kemira Engineering employs approx. 70 persons.
PIC Engineering Oyj provides services to industrial customers in engineering, project management, and consultancy services. The company's main business areas are the process industry, product and manufacturing industry, electronics industry and marine technology. PIC employs a personnel of about 900 person.
PIC Engineering is part of SWECO group which is a listed company on the O-listing on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. SWECO is a leading engineering consultancy in the Nordic countries. SWECO's net sales totalled EUR 335 million in the year 2003, and the company employs a personnel of approx. 3,600 persons.
The deal includes an agreement on cooperation to the effect that PIC will provide engineering services to Kemira as required by Kemira. "Kemira will focus on the Group's core businesses while also ensuring continued competency in engineering. Through the sale of our in-house engineering company to PIC Engineering we wish to ensure deepened co-operation and secure the future supply of professional, capable engineering service to Kemira", says Matti Lapinleimu, Executive Vice President, Kemira Oyj.
