F.L.Smidth wins new contract in Pakistan

F.L.Smidth has received an order for the supply of a 6,700 tonnes per day cement production line for Maple Leaf Cement Factory LTD, which is owned by Kohinoor Maple Leaf Group in Pakistan. The contract, valued at approximately 63m euro or some DKK 460m, is the second large order landed in Pakistan this year.

The production line is scheduled to come on stream during 2007, and the scope of the contract includes all essential main machinery including ATOX mills for raw material and coal grinding, OK vertical mills for cement grinding and a pyroprocessing system complete with preheater, kiln and SF Cross-Bar cooler. F.L.Smidth's specialist product companies are also involved with F.L.Smidth Materials Handling, supplying a complete raw material store and silo installation, F.L.Smidth Airtech supplying electrostatic precipitators, Ventomatic six complete packing lines, Pfister coal meal feeders, MAAG Gear gear units and F.L.Smidth Automation a complete control system and laboratory.

The machinery contract is based largely on the technology used for the cement production line which F.L.Smidth is to supply to the D.G.Khan Cement company also based in Pakistan, cf. stock exchange announcement no 19-2004.

"We have on several occasions supplied machinery and equipment to the Maple Leaf cement plant and are currently converting one of its production lines to the manufacture of white cement. We find it highly gratifying that customers repeatedly return to us for additional supplies of machinery and equipment," says Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen.

The order will not affect the FLS Group's previously announced earnings projections for this year, but it will contribute positively to earnings until the commissioning.
