"The total value of the five year deal will be in the vicinity of 5.8 million euro, including a large proportion of Agfa professional services revenues," said Paul Gooden, the General Manager for Agfa's HealthCare in Oceania. The going-live date for the project is set for 2nd Quarter 2005 at The Townsville Hospital and Ingham Hospital in far North Queensland. This is the Proof of Concept site where Agfa professional services will complete a benefits realization study for Queensland Health.
"The decision to choose Agfa was favorably influenced by the successful implementation of the IMPAX(TM) system, named 'QPACS', at all six tertiary hospitals in Queensland over the past four years," commented David Chambers, Regional General Manager for Agfa's HealthCare, Asia-Pacific. "Our proven track record of quality project management and unsurpassed systems integration skills made us the partner of choice for the project." The major challenge for the QRIS Project will be the interfacing to Queensland Health's Master Patient Index system, named "Client Directory" functionality which is central to a number of key patient and clinician benefits.
Queensland Health identified Agfa's proven expertise in interfacing and implementation as the main reasons for choosing Agfa as their RIS partner for the future.
