LONDON, Oct. 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- STOXX Ltd., the leading European index provider, has licensed its six Dow Jones EURO STOXX Style indexes as well as the Dow Jones EURO STOXX Large, Mid and Small Cap indexes to Barclays Global Investors (BGI) as underlying indexes for exchange-traded funds (ETF). The first ETFs on the Dow Jones EURO STOXX Mid and Small cap indexes will be launched on November 1, 2004 in the U.K. Additional listings in the U.K. and Continental Europe are expected soon afterwards, subject to regulatory approval.
The Dow Jones EURO STOXX Style indexes and the Dow Jones EURO STOXX Size indexes are the first value, growth and size indexes in Europe that have been licensed as underlying for ETFs.

BGI already distributes iShares DJ EURO STOXX 50, the largest ETF in Europe, with EUR 2,209.2 million assets under management as of September 30, 2004, as well as iShares DJ STOXX 50 with EUR 513,8 million assets under management as September 30, 2004.
The Dow Jones EURO STOXX Style index series is comprised of the Dow Jones EURO STOXX TMI Value and Growth indexes and their respective Large, Mid and Small indexes. This series is integrated in the Dow Jones STOXX Growth and Value index family and follows the same methodology as the Dow Jones US Growth and Value index series.
The Dow Jones EURO STOXX Size indexes are a subset of the Dow Jones STOXX 600 Size indexes.
The indexes are distributed on a real-time basis through major market data vendors. Historical data on the Dow Jones EURO STOXX Style indexes is available to June 30, 1997 and for the Dow Jones EURO STOXX Size indexes back to December 31, 1986.
