CellaVision AB launches new software for blood cell proficiency testing and education.

CellaVision Diff IQ allows laboratories to ensure that their staff is trained to report results consistent with lab policies and to help to guarantee the consistency and quality of the differential result. The combination of high quality digital images, sophisticated data analysis tools and a user-friendly interface standardizes the differential between medical technologists, shifts and sites.

"The hematology market in the U.S. has shown great interest in our developments, which we believe is due to the perfect fit of our hematology products with the laboratories' objectives and long term needs. With the launch of CellaVision Diff IQ we have a strong product portfolio and we can offer a tool for standardization of differential results to the market," says Peter Wilson, Product Manager at CellaVision.

CellaVision Diff IQ will be demonstrated by Sysmex America, Inc. and CellaVision on July 24-28 at the joint meeting of the XIX International Congress of Clinical Chemistry and the 2005 Annual Meeting of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) in Orlando, Florida, USA.

Product information
CellaVision Diff IQ is a software package for education and proficiency testing of manual blood cell differentials in laboratories. The product allows labs to reduce the resources needed to test and train their staff, and it helps standardize the lab's white blood cell differential results across technologists, shifts and sites. Testing is established by the laboratories' 'examiner', who chooses and classifies the cells to be included in the test case, performed by the participant.

CellaVision Diff IQ software includes CellaVision cell databases of slides. The CellaVision Diff IQ databases contain images of slides stained with either a May Grünwald Giemsa or a Wright staining protocol. They contain 9-10 slides, each having approximately 100 white blood cell images and a large RBC overview image for RBC characterization. Users of CellaVision(TM) DM96 or DM8 systems have the additional ability to create cell databases from slides processed on their own systems.
