KENT, Wash., June 2, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sunstream Boat Lifts is hosting Congressman Adam Smith of Washington's Ninth District today at 2:00 PM at Sunstream's corporate offices for a tour of its Kent manufacturing facility in the wake of increased government use of Sunstream's high-speed hydraulic boat lifts. Sunstream's FloatLift has improved efficiencies and emergency response time for a number of government agencies, including the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security. The market potential for over 100 million dollars in business with the U.S. Government will be discussed at today's meeting as well as the company's increasing prominence in the local economy.
Government agencies using FloatLifts experience cost savings in reduced maintenance, reduced maintenance and time-to-launch according to government estimates. The Navy has also mitigated environmental impacts using FloatLifts. Out-of-water storage of the government's increasing fleets of small, high-speed boats has improved the condition of boat bottoms, improving fuel efficiency. Having the boats literally hover above the water while not in use also decreases launch time, allowing emergency and security services to respond immediately when summoned for a time-critical mission.
