Putting Challenge to Benefit ALS Association


WICHITA, Kan., Aug. 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- In mid-August, Kansas Golf Skills is presenting an "ALS Benefit Putting Challenge" at Cedar Pines Golf Course at 1208 West Highway 54 in Andover, Kansas. All proceeds will benefit The ALS Association Keith Worthington Chapter in aid of research and home care to ALS patients.

The three-day event will take place on Friday, August 19th, 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday, August 20th, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, August 21st, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tickets are only $5 per round. There are no limits and the more you play the greater your chances of qualifying for the final round. There will be three daily winners who will receive a trophy, commemorative hat, one round of golf for two (golf cart included), and one dozen MaxFli Revolution golf balls. The three daily winners will automatically qualify for the finals.

The 2005 Putting Champion will receive a champion trophy, a commemorative hat, one dozen Calloway Blue HX Tour golf balls, and a Walter Hagen Tour Milled WH-2 putter.

No tee time is required! Anyone can do this! All you have to do is show up at Cedar Pines Golf Course in Andover. Any participant who can complete all nine holes consecutively wins $200 cash!

The title sponsor for this year's event is The Cabinet Lady. Other major sponsors include Design Build Corporation and Rayer's Bearden Stained Glass & Gifts of Wichita.

The ALS Association Keith Worthington Chapter provides such services as the use of medical equipment and computerized speech-assistance devices at no cost to the families; it manages ALS support groups, and informs patients of ALS research and strategies to cope with the disease through newsletters, a website and in-home consultations with professionals.
