Automotive Specialty Concepts Announces New Division

VANCOUVER, Wash., Aug. 17, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Automotive Specialty Concepts (Pink Sheets:AMVS) announced today that is forming a new, wholly owned subsidiary under the AMVS umbrella.

Dexter Morrison will be president -- the mission is to provide drug awareness and fundraising programs for the nation's youth.

"We will provide a variety of products such as light-switch covers, t-shirts, and other such memorabilia to reinforce drug awareness programs with positive messages and will offer organizations an opportunity to raise money via the sale of these reinforced programs," said Mr. Morrison.

"In the process we will further build our AMVS brand, and expect to generate sales of related products and programs."

Currently, legislative pressure is building to reduce drug use among the nation's athletes. Congress is pressuring the Drug Enforcement Administration (http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/) and school Boards to find ways to stop the raging steroid use. Several States have set up random drug testing but many others are complaining.

The company has already sent information to the Congress officials who are making the decisions and are in contact with them about our programs. Also several schools in Texas have already placed orders including Crawford High School as well as several in the state of Washington.

The programs have received major interest already with the help of celebrity Mel Renfro, Dallas Cowboy Hall-of-Famer. Mr. Renfro has taken an interest to fight the steroid issues and support the fundraising goals of each organization. Mr. Renfro already has a foundation in which helps kids with drug problems. http://www.starfishfoundation.com

Steroid use is at an all time high and rising.

-- Drug testing is often times being masked and found ineffective.
-- The Drug Enforcement Administration (http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/)
has indicated to AMVS that would like to get more involved with
AMVS to raise the awareness of the harmful dangers of using
steroids. They commented that this was an issue nobody was properly
    addressing at this time.
-- There is a commission with Congress to find ways to prevent
    steroids from infiltrating high schools.
-- Drug testing is too expensive for regular use and education is
the best tool. AMVS programs educate and build fundraising
    within the schools.
-- Dallas Cowboy Football Hall-of-Famer Mel Renfro is looking to
front run this with Mychal Thompson, Former professional National
Basketball Association player, to relay the message to kids.

"High schools are latest target in battle against steroids" http://www.azcentral.com/sports/preps/articles/0728hsroids0728.html

-- "In California, which has modeled its program after Arizona, most
districts also feel it costs too much to test. Because
affordability is the main rub, to this point districts have kept
education as the main tool in efforts to curb steroids use among
     high school students."
-- "'Roids on the rise -- 7.3 percent of ninth-graders reported
steroids use in the most recent study, 2003."
-- "Buckeye football coach Bobby Barnes, whose program received
national attention two years ago when he kicked 11 players off
his team for admitted steroids use, is on a roundtable commission
with Congress to find ways to prevent steroids from infiltrating
high schools. Also on the committee with Barnes are U.S.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., House Reform Committee Chairman Tom
Davis, R-Va., and Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, along
     with specialists and parents."
