Delta to Add New Routes between Salt Lake City, Canada

New non-stop service to Edmonton, Alberta set for December


SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 25, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Continuing with its transformation plan to add key business and leisure destinations for customers from its hub cities, Delta Air Lines soon will offer Salt Lake City travelers a new non-stop route north of the border. Beginning Dec. 15, Delta Connection carrier SkyWest will offer service between Salt Lake City and Edmonton, Alberta, in Canada.

"Our Salt Lake City customers continue to see growth in the number of destinations available to them from our Western hub," said Bob Cortelyou, vice president of Network Planning. "And we welcome new customers in Edmonton who now will have easy access to the many connecting opportunities in Salt Lake City for onward travel east and south."

To promote this new Canada service, for a limited time Delta is offering special introductory fares for travel between Dec. 15, 2005 and Feb. 14, 2006. See below for more details. Tickets must be purchased by Nov. 8, 2005.

SkyWest will operate its Edmonton service with the popular 50-seat Bombardier CRJ 200 aircraft.

Already in 2005, Delta has begun or announced plans to increase service from its Salt Lake City hub to key U.S. regional business destinations, including: Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis; Cleveland (Nov. 1); Memphis, Tenn. (Nov. 1); Nashville, Tenn. (Dec. 1); Hartford, Conn. (Dec. 1); and Milwaukee (Dec. 1). Additionally, Delta has announced flights to popular leisure destinations in Mexico from Salt Lake City, including Puerto Vallarta (Nov. 1), Mazatlan (March 8, 2006, subject to foreign government approval) and Cozumel (March 10, 2006, subject to foreign government approval).
