Nidec and Nidec Copal Electronics Jointly Promote Strategically-Designed CMC Lineup

KYOTO, Japan, Nov. 15, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nidec (NYSE:NJ) (Tokyo, Osaka Stock exchange code:6594) announced today that it is setting out to advance the sale of CMC (Compact Motor Concept) brushless DC motors in cooperation with one of its consolidated subsidiaries, Nidec Copal Electronics Corporation.

Nidec's CMC brushless DC motor is a lower-cost, higher-performing alternative to traditional small precision motors as typified by brush motors and stepping motors found in home electric appliances, automobiles and office equipment. Designed to solve the weaknesses of the conventional motors, CMC brushless DC motors are free from electromagnetic interference problems and ensure greater controllability, quieter operation, longer life and higher energy efficiency. Following the 2003 launch of the first models 13H and 22H, Nidec augmented the CMC lineup with model 27H in June 2005.

Today, brushless DC motors are drawing attention from many industries for their practical advantages and are steadily replacing conventional motors in the global market. Nidec, the world's largest manufacturer of brushless DC motors, aims to penetrate a broader range of markets with its CMC brushless DC motors closely geared to increasingly diverse market needs.
