TRANSACTION CONCERNING SAMPO'S POLISH SUBSIDIARIES CLOSED
In June, Sampo plc announced it would divest its subsidiaries in Poland - the Sampo PTE S.A. pension company and the Sampo T.U. Zycie S.A. life insurance company - to Nordea Life Holding A/S.
The necessary official permits, upon which the transaction was conditional, have now been obtained. The consideration is EUR 95 million, of which Sampo will recognise a sales gain of EUR 25 million. The sales gain is influenced by the fact that Sampo wrote off most of the companies' goodwill in 2002.
