Phlo Affiliate Signs Professional Boxer Joey Gilbert -- The 'Contender' -- to Market Its AQUIS Products

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 11, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Phlo Corporation (Pink Sheets:PHLC) ("Phlo") announced today that one of its affiliates (the "Company") has signed an agreement with Joey Gilbert, professional boxer and star of NBC's "The Contender," to endorse its AQUIS(tm) Rapid Response Rehydration product line containing the Company's MEDS (Micro-Encapsulation Delivery System) biologically-active delivery technology. Gilbert, a three-time National Champion, four-time All American, and world-ranked professional boxer, has become one of the most sought after athletes in America following his appearances and successful matches on The Contender. Gilbert will be the lead boxing analyst for College Sports TV Networks, Inc., which was recently acquired by CBS. Gilbert is also a spokesman for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Gilbert will support the Company's sales and marketing efforts by the promotion and endorsement of AQUIS(tm) through his boxing and entertainment activities, his collegiate and professional sports endeavors (including as a sportscaster), and his activities related to the U.S. Military and to humanitarian and non-profit entities.

Gilbert, a practicing attorney, will be fighting for the NABO Middleweight Championship on February 18, 2006, at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. He will display the AQUIS(tm) logo on his robe and boxing trunks during that title fight.

Gilbert's involvement with the Company came after using AQUIS(tm) Rapid Response Rehydration drinks before his last professional fight, which he won by unanimous decision after six-rounds at Caesar's Tahoe. "Like all top athletes and highly competitive people, I'm always looking for an edge, whether in the off-season or during the intense weeks of training prior to a fight -- and nothing is more important with regard to performance than being properly hydrated," said Gilbert. "I have tried all of the rehydration systems available, and none of them compare to AQUIS for maintaining peak performance. Since using AQUIS(tm) and experiencing the effect of the immediate replenishment of electrolytes before my last fight, I am absolutely committed to this product."

Gilbert stands at the forefront of the new generation of world-class athletes who actively seek the "Competitive Edge" advantages that can be gained through new technology, such as the Company's MEDS technology contained in AQUIS(tm). This technology creates immediate absorption of the electrolyte payload into the bloodstream, beginning through the mucous membranes of the mouth. MEDS represents a further application of the Company's patented VEP/PPC technology.

Gilbert also took cases of AQUIS with him on his most recent trip to visit the U.S. troops stationed in Afghanistan. Gilbert's role in the Morale, Wellness, and Recreation Tour was to educate the troops on proper hydration, nutrition and fitness. He gave seminars, worked out with the troops, and led boxing clinics, as well as conditioning and endurance drills. "I gave the troops all of the AQUIS I brought with me and they loved the results and taste. The troops used it on missions and have already made requests for more of the product."

Gilbert and the Company are working together to make AQUIS available through Gilbert's website, which has been visited by millions of fans since his appearances on The Contender. To learn more about Joey Gilbert, visit his website at www.joeygilbert.com.
