The plant is conveniently located for distribution by road and via the inland waterways flowing into the North Sea. Yara's Sluiskil AdBlue plant guarantees Air1®customers the best possible reliability and security in supply.
Air1® offers a unique combination of product quality, a package of additional services and reliability of supply. AdBlue is a liquid fuel that feeds the SCR catalyst on-board trucks; meeting the more stringent European Union restrictions on exhaust gas emissions that come into effect in October 2006. From that date onwards, truck manufacturers will only be allowed to market vehicles that comply with the new Euro 4 and 5 emission standards. By 2012, AdBlue consumption in the Western European market is estimated to reach 3,5 million tonnes per year.
Yara has already established a partnership with Brenntag, the largest chemical distributor of AdBlue in Europe, ensuring delivery to its customers within 48 hours of ordering Air1®. "Air1® is an important product in the drive for a cleaner environment in Europe. The new Sluiskil plant will be at the heart of our production and distribution network with a unique guarantee of reliable delivery," says Rolf Isberg, Director of Yara's Air1® program.
Yara Sluiskil already has Europe's largest installed ammonia and nitrogen fertilizer production capacities. It will now produce 750 000 tonnes of solid urea a year, providing the basic element for Air1® and other urea solutions used for emission reductions.
