U-Haul Depicts Fritillary Wings and Wild Things in the Louisiana Outback at Truck Unveiling Event

LAKE CHARLES, La., May 8, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- U-Haul International today announced the release of 600 new 26-foot moving vans depicting the Gulf Fritillary Butterfly along the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road.

Named as one of only 29 All-American Roads in 2002 and complete with legends of Jean Lafitte's buried treasure, the Creole Nature Trail in Southwest Louisiana is 180 miles of adventure, nature, culture and unspoiled outback beauty. This week, U-Haul will officially unveil the Louisiana SuperGraphic, as its "Venture Across America" Campaign visits the 49th annual Contraband Days Pirate Festival on Saturday, May 13, at 5:30 p.m.

"We are thrilled to partner with the Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge to educate the public about this fascinating nature trail and the remarkable wildlife and adventures it has to offer," stated Keith Mills, president, U-Haul Company of Northern Louisiana. "We would like to encourage people to visit Lake Charles and take in the experience of the Louisiana outback, with its rare land formations, wildlife refuges and buried-treasure mysteries. For years to come, people all over North America will have the privilege of seeing this larger-than-life image of the Gulf Fritillary flying along the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road."

The Gulf Fritillary - Creole Nature Trail All-American Road SuperGraphic was produced at Kar-Go Decal Company in Ivyland, Pa., and shipped to several of the 11 North American U-Haul fabrication and assembly plants for installation on the new 26-foot moving vans.

U-Haul has been decorating its moving trucks with vibrant images featuring distinctive features of every U.S. state and Canadian province since 1988 with the launch of the "America's Moving Adventure" and "Canada's Moving Adventure" SuperGraphics campaigns. This newest graphic is part of the "Venture Across America" Campaign that highlights little-known facts about North America. Nearly 200 different images have been created since the SuperGraphics Program began. They can be viewed online by visiting www.uhaul.com/supergraphics.
