San Diego Police Department Orders 428 TASER X26 Devices

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 13, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq:TASR) today announced that it has received an order for 428 TASER(r) X26 units and accessories to be delivered to the San Diego Police Department.

"The new TASER X26 units will go to additional officers being trained as members of our Critical Response Teams (CRT)," said Chief Bill Lansdowne. "CRT gets specially trained and equipped officers to critical incidents within 15 minutes, dramatically reducing the likelihood of an officer having to use deadly force."

"San Diego Police were one of the first users to deploy large numbers of our first electronic control devices called the AIR TASER(r), model 34000, back in 1999," said Tom Smith, President of TASER International. "We view this as a significant milestone when one of the largest and most prestigious law enforcement agencies in U.S. places a followup order of 428 units in their transition to utilizing the smaller, lighter, life-saving technology of the TASER X26," concluded Mr. Smith.

San Diego Police Department, with over 2,100 sworn law enforcement officers, now deploys 919 TASER X26 devices.

This purchase amount totaled over $368,876 and is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2006.
