IMPCO Technologies to Present at Canaccord Adams Summer Seminar in Boston

Second Quarter Results to be Issued the Same Week; Announces Conference Call Changes

SANTA ANA, Calif., July 31, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- IMPCO Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:IMCO) today announced the company is scheduled to make a presentation at the Canaccord Adams Summer Seminar in Boston at the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Mariano Costamagna, president and chief executive officer, and Brad Garner, chief operating officer, will review industry trends, as well as the company's business and growth opportunities. A live web cast of the presentation will be available through the company's website.

The company also said it expects to file its Form 10-Q for the second quarter ended June 30, 2006, with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the afternoon on Wednesday, August 9, and issue a news release prior to the open of market on Thursday, August 10. In addition, IMPCO said it will no longer host quarterly conference calls, but will conduct an annual conference call in conjunction with the release of its year-end results. Management emphasized that it is committed to pro-active communications with the investment community, and anticipates providing an increased level of information on corporate developments and performance guidance via press releases, investment community presentations and related activities.

"Management is completely focused on enhancing the company's leadership position in the alternative fuels sector -- specifically systems and components utilizing gaseous fuels within the industrial and transportation markets. While we appreciate the growing interest in the company among investment community professionals, the ever-increasing preparation time associated with conducting quarterly conference calls has become counterproductive to management's focus on revenue and earnings growth," said Mariano Costamagna.

The company's annual meeting is scheduled for August 23 and shareholders are being asked to vote on a corporate reorganization and a proposed name change to Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc., among other matters.
