vidavee Wins 2006 Award of Excellence From Society for New Communications Research

vidavee Empowers Mobile Video Makers to Produce and Distribute Compelling Content

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 1, 2006 -- vidavee, www.vidavee.com, is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of the Society for New Communications Research (http://www.sncr.org/) 2006 Award of Excellence in the Business category. The Society's awards program honors innovative organizations and professionals who are pioneering the use of social media (i.e., blogs, wikis, podcasts, collaborative tools and other forms of participatory communications) in the areas of marketing, public relations and advertising, politics, entertainment, academics, and community and cultural development. The award winners were announced at the Society's inaugural awards gala at the Colonnade Hotel in Boston, Mass on November 1.

In March 2006, Palm Canada announced the launch of Mobifest -- Canada's first mobile film festival, created to recognize excellence and innovation in made-for-mobile films. Produced by Mobigardens Corporation, a producer and distributor of made-for-mobile movies, this international film festival was the first exclusively mobile film festival. All film content was shot and created specifically for the "small screen" -- either for a mobile phone, smart-phone or other handheld device.

Mobile film-making represents cutting edge terrain with many filmmakers not well versed with the medium. vidavee allows mobile filmmakers -- as well as average consumers -- to capture video on any device -- including cell phone, PDA, PC and digital camera/camcorders -- and convert the video into useful applications, share with others and create original collaborative content. With Mobifest, vidavee distributed all of the mobile movies to the Palm Treo.

Mobifest winners were chosen from a pool of 60 international finalists from Columbia, Argentina, Australia, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, the U.S., and Canada. More than 250 entries were entered into the competition. Palm Mobifest: Canada's Mobile Film Festival announced the winners of its inaugural competition at a screening and awards ceremony at the Isabel Bader Theatre in Toronto in May 2006.

"vidavee's pioneering campaign in the mobile video market exemplifies the mission of this awards program: the successful and innovative use of new communications solutions and social media practices to enhance communications and relationships," commented Mike Manuel, SNCR Best Practices committee chairman.

"Our vidavee platform enabled hundreds of content makers to easily produce and showcase their unique mobile video content," said Mark Brenner, president and chief executive officer of vidavee. "I was truly amazed by the diversity and creativity of the mobile content and delivered in under a minute. We are honored to receive this award from The Society for New Communications Research and applaud them for recognizing and celebrating pioneering social media."

Award nominations were submitted as case studies, and reviewed by a panel of ten judges, including SNCR research fellows, advisors, members of the SNCR Best Practices committee, vendor council members and representatives from the Society's organizational affiliates. Awards of Merit and Awards of Excellence were presented in three categories, including: SNCR Professional Awards, honoring leading new communications thinkers, bloggers, journalists, citizen journalists and professional communicators; SNCR Academic Awards, recognizing leading work/research/studies from students and academic institutions; and the SNCR Business Awards, honoring organizations that are successfully adopting new communications models and leveraging them in innovative ways for business purposes.

The winning case studies are posted on the Society's blog at www.newcommreview.com
