About Encryption
The VSIA created the IP Encryption working group, a sub-group of the VSIA
IP Protection Pillar to provide EDA, IP and end-user communities with a
standard that addresses the challenges designers face when using protected
IP in their design flows. The working group will base the standard on a
methodology donated by Synplicity and include ideas and other donated work
as appropriate. This IP encryption methodology is applicable to both FPGA
and ASIC design flows and should significantly simplify the integration of
IP for designers. Companies who participate in the group will be able to
help shape an end product that supports the goals of their company while
contributing to the definition of an industry standard.
