MONTREAL, Dec. 14, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The 2006-07 NCAA college bowl season is a veritable holiday festival of FieldTurf! An astounding 24 NCAA teams that play their home games on FieldTurf will be participating in bowl games, and seven of the bowl games will actually be played on FieldTurf. Also, a total of 24 bowl-playing schools practice on FieldTurf at their football complexes, including both Florida and Ohio State, who will face off for the national championship in the BCS title game.
"We obviously knew that FieldTurf was involved this year with a lot of bowl teams and bowl games, but once we actually tabulated all of the teams and games involved, even we were taken aback... it's quite an incredible accomplishment for our company," said FieldTurf CEO John Gilman. "Almost 40% (37.5%) of every single team that's participating in a bowl game plays their home games in a stadium that has FieldTurf. That really is amazing. To see how far FieldTurf has come in less than a decade is a true testament to our product and to our employees. This really is a proud accomplishment for FieldTurf, and we're very thankful to all of the universities who believe in our product."
