Sierra Gold Corporation explores and develops gold and diamond properties in Western Africa. SGCP owns the mining rights to a Sierra Leone based gold and diamond mining company, Northern Star Resources Ltd. Its mining property is one of Sierra Leone's richest known alluvial gold mining fields. The property covers approximately 40 square miles of prime mining concession located south of the Sula Mountains in the Greenstone belt on the North Pampana River, around 120 miles east of Freetown, Sierra Leone's capital.
Sierra has obtained a mining permit from the local government. Mining Engineer Michael Manke's issued a report on the mining property estimating gold reserves of 520,000 ounces with grades of .12 oz/ton. SGCP conducted extensive assaying in late 2005 that established the presence of large quantities of gold of grades 2.62 gm/ton at depths twice those considered in Mr. Manke's analysis. Recent assaying results also indicate the presence of other precious metals, which Sierra plans to locate through exploration activities.
It is the aim of Sierra Gold Corporation to raise exploration and development capital on the Pink Sheets to expand the resource and complete a test mining program while completing the process to move the company to the NASDAQ market and plans to satisfy the requirements necessary to qualify for the NASDAQ market.
