BURLINGAME, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 8, 2007 -- AtHoc is pleased to be one of Microsoft's
partners attending the Microsoft Air Force Symposium 2007 on March 21-22 in
Redmond, WA. This premier event offers a forum for Air Force leaders and
private industry to discuss and evaluate the contributions information
technology can make in support of the Air Force's strategic mission.
As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, AtHoc will showcase its
market-leading warning system used for installation protection and command
and control. Specifically, AtHoc will highlight its work completed in
conjunction with Microsoft throughout the Department of Defense. AtHoc has
successfully deployed its IWSAlerts offering at numerous military
installations in the Air Force, Army and Navy. AtHoc will demonstrate its
proven, enterprise-class alerting software for warning systems, emergency
operations centers and critical communications.
"This year's symposium provides a great opportunity to speak to the Air
Force's leadership about the real-world successes Air Force installations
have achieved using AtHoc IWSAlerts. These successes range from
commendations during operational readiness inspections to more effective
responses to emergency situations," said Andy Anderson, AtHoc's vice
president of operations, defense sector. "AtHoc, teaming with Microsoft, is
actively helping the Air Force ensure critical information is in the hands
of personnel in times of emergency."
AtHoc IWSAlerts combines a network alerting capability with a robust
emergency notification management system. Using its network alerting
capability, the system enables military installations to reach all
personnel using any network-connected device, such as desktop PCs or PDAs.
The alerts reach personnel in times of emergency with targeted messages and
instructions for action -- all within an average of one minute.
AtHoc IWSAlerts' management system serves as the control center which
centrally manages all aspects of the emergency notification process. This
includes: emergency scenario management, operators' permission management,
end-user management and alerts tracking. The powerful management system is
also able to connect and trigger multiple alert delivery systems such as
Giant Voice or telephony alerting through a single interface, greatly
reducing the command center operator's workload.
Microsoft's products serve as the foundation for the AtHoc line of alerting
products. AtHoc's offerings operate on the Microsoft platform, which
includes the operating system, server, database and desktop. AtHoc's
products also integrate with Microsoft's Live Communications Server (LCS)
and Windows Media Server. LCS enables instantaneous alerting to targeted
personnel while the media server enables video alerts.
"Microsoft and AtHoc have worked closely on numerous Air Force deployments.
Using AtHoc IWSAlerts, Air Force personnel receive rapid threat alerting
with the level of relevant detail required to effectively respond to the
emergency. Clear instructions for action can have life and death
consequences, and by using a net-centric platform, the Air Force can
prepare in advance for emergency scenarios. When a scenario occurs in real
life, they can trigger an alert to thousands of personnel with a click of a
button," said Maria Wald, manager of U.S. Air Force global accounts for
Microsoft. "The Air Force is at the forefront in the use of the network for
alerting for force protection and operational readiness."
