Sectra first with EU-approved voice crypto for mobile communications

The Council of the European Union has approved Sectra's crypto product Tiger XS
for the exchange of EU classified information. Tiger XS is approved for
communication up to and including the high security level - SECRET UE.

”The EU approval is significant in our focus on the European government market,”
says, Jan-Olof Brüer, President and CEO of Sectra. ”We are the first to receive
an EU approval for this type of encryption product, providing us an advantageous
position for selling the Tiger XS to the EU as an organization and to the member
countries.”
Crypto products used for transmission of security-classified information within
the EU must be security approved. Before a product is approved, it undergoes an
extensive technical evaluation by two of the EU member countries. Tiger XS was
reviewed and evaluated by the security authorities in the Netherlands and
Germany. The decision to approve the encryption product for communication of EU
classified information was then taken by the EU's decision-making and
legislating body, the Council of the European Union.

Tiger XS - secure EU communications
Tiger XS, Sectra's latest generation of Tiger products, is a personal voice
encryptor that protects mobile and fixed telecommunications. The product is used
by government authorities and defense customers and has been approved by the EU
and several national security and accreditation bodies in Europe.
