Forstjóri Lánasýslu ríkisins, Þórður Jónasson, hefur óskað eftir lausn frá embætti og hefur jafnframt óskað eftir því að lausnin verði veitt hið fyrsta. Hefur fjármálaráðherra fallist á að starfslok Þórðar verði hinn 10. apríl næstkomandi. Fjármálaráðherra hefur í dag sett Sigurð G. Thoroddsen, lögfræðing frá Lánasýslu ríkisins, til þess að gegna starfi forstjóra Lánasýslu ríkisins á tímabilinu 11. apríl til 1. ágúst 2007.
