New York Yankees Close Latest Blockbuster Deal: The ProBatter Pitching Simulator

MILFORD, CT -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 4, 2007 -- ProBatter Sports has completed a landmark deal with the New York Yankees for the purchase of three new ProBatter PX2 pitching simulators. Long known for their commitment to producing a winning team and doing everything possible to excel, the 26-time world champion Bronx Bombers have acquired the breakthrough training systems for use at their Yankee Stadium home, as well as their minor league facilities in Tampa and Scranton.

ProBatter Professional Baseball simulators utilize patented technology to nearly perfectly duplicate the experience of facing live pitching. The PX2 was recently introduced and represents a refinement in the basic ProBatter design, taking advantage of the most recent advancements in hardware and software development.

The Yankees purchased a ProBatter Pro system at the beginning of last season, temporarily installing it at their spring training site in Tampa. It was subsequently moved to Yankee Stadium, where throughout the regular season, hitters took advantage of the simulator's unique ability to provide "live at-bats" against the highest level pitching. The new PX2 machine replaces the Pro unit, which is projected to be reinstalled in Charleston, home of the Yankee's class A farm team.

The ProBatter pitching simulator projects a DVD-quality image of a real pitcher onto an 8x10 foot screen. The hitter watches as the pitcher winds up (or throws from a stretch) -- at the moment of release, an actual ball is fired through a small hole in the screen, delivering virtually any pitch a human being can. Synchronization is perfect and the effect is startling real. Indeed, hitters can be challenged by an endless array of fastballs, sinkers, cutters, curves, sliders, change-ups, etc. -- at speeds up to 100 mph and variable in increments of two mph. Moreover, the pitches can be delivered with pinpoint accuracy and thrown to pre-selected locations inside and outside the strike zone.

Batters benefit from a hitting experience that very closely simulates live major league pitching. By so closely approximating recreating reality, the ProBatter system can hone hitting skills like no other pitching machine ever created.

The Boston Red Sox and New York Mets have ProBatter simulators installed at their spring training sites and the Chicago White Sox have also purchased the system. The Cleveland Indians have ProBatter machines installed at Jacobs Field, their home ballpark, as well as Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo, home of their AAA farm team. In addition, the 2005 Japan Series champion Chiba Lotte Marines, under the leadership of former big league player and manager, Bobby Valentine, also use ProBatter in their training regimen, as do Division I college programs, Connecticut, Maine, Old Dominion and Nevada.
