Peab’s comment on the strike

Peab's comment on the strike

The fact that this strike has broken out is regrettable and unfortunate. Many of
our ongoing projects are being affected unfairly, and we hope that this strike
will be resolved in as short a time as possible.

While the projects affected by the strike are at a standstill, Peab will be
compensated in the shorter term by the Svenskt Näringsliv conflict fund,
enabling it to cover expenses resulting from the dispute. In the longer term, it
goes without saying that delays will become more and more costly and - as always
- third parties are the ones that will be hardest hit.

Initially, this action has targeted Peab's staff, customers and shareholders
only. We are unable to interpret the actions of Byggnads in any manner other
than to state that they wish to cause harm to Peab. This is no agreement
conflict taking place; but a conscious action against the Peab brand and the
Peab organisation, with its 12 000 employees.

Peab's strategy has always been to focus on the staff we ourselves employ. This
is obviously something which displeases Byggnads, for some inexplicable reason.
The labour market for construction workers is undergoing development, partly on
account of Sweden's membership of the EU.

  - We wish to continue our focus on having our own staff. Alternatives using
manpower agencies abroad benefiting ahead of solutions using staff we employ
ourselves cannot be right,” says Mats Paulsson, CEO of Peab.
