The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation Selects Tendenci(R) to Power Web Outreach

HOUSTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 2, 2007 -- The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation has become the latest private not-for-profit organization to select the Tendenci (www.tendenci.com) Web marketing application to power its Web site. Designed by True Light Resources (www.truelightresources.com), the Center's new site at www.cri-usa.org will serve as the centerpiece of the agency's efforts to promote individual choice, personal growth and community involvement for persons with mental retardation and those needing similar services.

Tendenci enables nonprofit organizations of all sizes to increase their online visibility, manage communications, promote and manage events, and simplify online fundraising. Tendenci is developed and marketed by Schipul - The Web Marketing Company (www.schipul.com), a leading worldwide provider of Web marketing solutions.

Earlier this spring the Center experienced firsthand the stunning power of the Web to create buzz and give people a voice. After being notified by the City of Houston that it planned to sell the facility in which the Center has been operating, the organization used a Tendenci-powered grassroots advocacy Web site, www.savethecenter.org, to call for help. In less than three weeks more than 10,000 electronic signatures were collected. The campaign helped accelerate negotiations with the City of Houston and ultimately led to a resolution that will keep the organization operating at its current location indefinitely.

"The Save The Center campaign proved how powerful the Web can be when it comes to quickly and easily spreading the word, building relationships and helping supporters take action," said Eva Aguirre, executive director of the Center. "Now that the campaign is behind us, we plan to build on our successes with Tendenci by creating a vibrant community of supporters to advance our mission."

With Tendenci, the Center's new Web delivers the following features and benefits:

-- An easy-to-use Content Management System on every page to make it easy
    to add and edit content, which makes the site more dynamic and current;
-- Automated search engine optimization features to make the site more
    visible to major search engines such as Google and Yahoo;
-- Robust e-newsletter functionality to make it easy to create and send e-
    newsletters to help supporters keep tabs on organization happenings;
-- Built-in Really Simple Syndication (RSS) to enable visitors to
    subscribe to automatically receive updates from the Center as they happen;
-- Online volunteer sign-up to quickly and easily engage site visitors
    who believe in the Center's cause and want to make a difference; and
-- Secure online gift processing to make it simple for site visitors to
    make a donation.

In addition to the Center, numerous other nonprofit organizations have chosen Tendenci to power their Web sites, including The Children's Fund, Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment, Houston Technology Center and Neuhaus Education Center, among others.
