"One Life To Live" Star Kassie DePaiva Releases New CD "I Want To Love You" May 22nd

Set to Co-Host and Perform on "The View" May 22nd

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 7, 2007 -- ABC-TV star Kassie DePaiva, best known as Blair in the hit daytime series, "One Life To Live," will wow her fans on May 22nd when she releases a new CD, "I Want To Love You," a collection of catchy bluegrass-inspired tunes. She is also set to co-host as well as perform on "The View" day of release and is scheduled to appear later that same week on "The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet" on May 24th.

The Emmy-nominated star, born and raised in Kentucky, sang back-up at Nashville's Opryland as a teenager. At age 18, she made her debut as a soloist at the Grand Ole Opry and sang back-up for Bobby Womack on several American and European tours. She has also performed with Kenny Rogers.

In 2000 DePaiva released her debut album, "Naked," followed by 2004's "No Regrets." Praising DePaiva's sophomore effort, a columnist for Country Weekly commented, "The album showcases Kassie's great vocals, which remind me of Faith Hill-meets-Trisha Yearwood."

"I Want To Love You" once again displays DePaiva's beautiful, country-style vocals on selections of upbeat tunes. Y'All Magazine described the new CD as "a mixture of Allison Krauss and bluegrass, (which) takes DePaiva back to her Kentucky roots."

In addition to co-writing two of the album's most memorable cuts, "Sweet Southern Love," and "Get On Over Here," many of the tracks are written by some of Nashville's leading songwriters, such as "I Want To Love You," the album's title track, co-written by Lisa Carver, whose credits include songs recorded by Willie Nelson, Julie Roberts, and Sugarland, most notably their "Good Morning America" theme song, "Everyday America."

In September, Kassie DePaiva will host a new PBS show, "Knit and Crochet Today." Known for crocheting and selling colorful wool hats, called "Kassie's Happy Hats," to help fund charities for the hearing impaired, DePaiva remains actively involved in raising awareness. Her son was born with a hearing defect and went on to be among the early recipients of the cochlear implant, the device which has since restored his hearing.
