LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - June 8, 2007) - One month after reaching all-time records, Southern California gas prices are down at least 15 cents from those record heights in most areas, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.333, which is 5.1 cents cheaper than last week, 15 cents below last month, and 1 cent under last year. In San Diego, the price is $3.324, which is 6.4 cents below last week's price, 17 cents under last month, and 3 tenths of a cent cheaper than last year. On the Central Coast, the average price is $3.494, down 6.5 cents from last week, 11 cents under last month, and 4 cents higher than last year. In the Inland Empire, the average price is $3.315, 6.4 cents below last week, 16 cents under than last month, and 3 cents cheaper than last year.

"Prices have come down by nearly a penny a day over the past week," said Auto Club spokesperson Carol Thorp. "It would take another month of similar declines to get prices below $3 a gallon."
