Corrections Corporation of America's General Counsel, Gus Puryear, Nominated as Federal District Judge


NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - June 13, 2007) - Corrections Corporation of America (NYSE: CXW) ("CCA," the "Company"), the nation's largest provider of corrections management services to government agencies, announced today that President Bush has nominated CCA's General Counsel, G.A. Puryear IV, to serve as United States District Judge for the Middle District of Tennessee. Mr. Puryear's nomination is subject to confirmation by the Senate, and he is expected to continue as the Company's General Counsel until his confirmation.
