Stora Enso is developing an exciting new eBusiness platform to boost on-demand packaging solutions. The "Stora Enso eDesign" platform will provide the possibility to create personalized eShops on the Internet, while the platform's online design tool will enable users to create their own graphic designs and order packages via the Internet. The first products will be drinking cups and DBS Discbox Slider CD cases.
The Stora Enso eDesign platform is designed to let customers fully utilize the benefits of automated digital workflow. The users can create, personalize and preview the graphic design of packages with the online design tool and order the products via the Internet. The back office system automates the workflow up to the production and shipment processes. These tools will considerably reduce the time and costs needed for the artwork and production start-up.
"The platform will provide new opportunities for both the packaging industry and brand owners. The solution is also suitable for niche markets, such as event organizers, fan clubs, restaurants, schools and universities," says Matthieu Wirtz, eBusiness Manager at Stora Enso Consumer Boards. Testing of the platform in a real business environment will be carried out by the end of 2007 and it is expected to be available for full commercial use in early 2008.
Personalized eShops
Stora Enso eDesign is made for the world-wide market place of the Internet. An eShop can work as an indirect sales channel and specific eShop solutions can be created for individual projects and for business and consumer markets. The eShops can be open or for registered-users only, and they can be general or branded. The user-interface and functional level of every eShop can be personalized to its targeted user group in order to provide superior customer experience. The platform is Internet-based, multilingual, adjustable to Intranet and Extranet solutions and fully scalable on both a functional and transactional level.
