Gas Prices Continue to Edge Lower After All-Time Highs Set Last Month

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - June 15, 2007) - For the third straight week, gas prices in Texas and across the U.S. edged lower after setting new record highs only a month ago, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.

The statewide average price for a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline dropped six cents to $2.948. The current Texas average is 13.7 cents lower than last month's all-time record high of $3.085 a gallon. The highest average on this week's survey is El Paso at $3.193 a gallon -- a decline of six cents. Corpus Christi has the lowest average at $2.843 a gallon -- down nine cents.

The national average is $3.043 a gallon -- down eight cents in one week.
