iPass and Chunghwa Telecom Launch First Regional Flat-Rate Roaming Service

Unlimited Pan-Asian Wi-Fi Hotspot and Dial-up Access

TAIPEI, TAIWAN, R.O.C.--(Marketwire - June 27, 2007) - iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS), a global provider of services that unify the management of enterprise mobility, and Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd (TAIEX: 2412) (NYSE: CHT), Taiwan's largest telecommunications company, today announced Asia's first regional flat-rate pricing for unlimited Wi-Fi, wired broadband and dial-up access across the region. The jointly developed service will allow Chunghwa Telecom's user base to benefit from predictable mobility costs and consistent, reliable connectivity when traveling pan-Asia.

Following in-depth research by the Tourism Bureau Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Republic of China (Taiwan) into the behavior of Taiwan travelers within the region, it was revealed that trips to pan-Asia account for over 83 percent of total travel traffic. In response to this, iPass and Chunghwa Telecom took the initiative to develop a predictable monthly flat-rate pricing that allows subscribers to avoid an unpredictable increase in remote access expenses as wireless broadband adoption grows.

"iPass and Chunghwa are breaking new ground with Asia's first regional flat-rate pricing offering," said Chee Leng Loy, Managing Director, Asia, iPass. "Chunghwa customers can now take full advantage of the availability of wireless and wired broadband, without the risk of increasing their connectivity costs. A flat-rate mobility service allows organizations to properly plan for and support their mobile workforce, allowing for increased cost predictability."

The new Chunghwa Enterprise flat-rate pricing plan offers business professionals an integrated service with unlimited redundant dial-up and nearly 23,000 Wi-Fi hotspot locations across the region, which includes Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Fiji Islands, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, N. Mariana Island/Saipan, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

"Offering a flat-rate pricing model provides a more attractive solution for Taiwanese business people whenever they travel in the region," said Yi-Ching Chen, Managing Director, Marketing Department, Chunghwa Telecom.

Available in July, Chunghwa Telecom will be offering the regional flat-rate pricing model to individuals, Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) and enterprises. For more information, visit http://roaming.hinet.net/.
