Free Downloadable Titles From the Madison County Library System

CANTON, MS--(Marketwire - July 2, 2007) - The Madison County Library System (MCLS) is proud to announce the arrival of downloadable audio books. With a valid library card and personal identification number (PIN), MCLS patrons can now browse and search hundreds of great titles in audio format, download them to their computers, and transfer them to portable devices for convenient listening anytime, anywhere. For free access, visit our digital content website at http://mcls.lib.overdrive.com.

Titles include selections from a wide range of genres: literature, mystery and thriller, the latest popular fiction, romance, biography, business, self-improvement, youth, and many more. Patrons may check out up to 5 digital titles at a time, each with a 14-day lending period. And since all titles are downloaded, there is no need to take them back to the library; they "return" themselves when the lending period expires!

More information, including an informational brochure, can be picked up at our Canton, Madison, Ridgeland, Flora, and Camden branches. Patrons may receive a PIN to gain access to the digital content website by asking any of our circulation staff for assistance.

MCLS has contracted with OverDrive, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise digital right management and digital media solutions to provide this service. Patrons can download and listen to audio books on a PC via the Overdrive Media Console. All titles can be transferred to an MP3 player and many can be burned to CD. The books are currently not iPod compatible.
