Pump Prices Reverse Course

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - July 13, 2007) - Pump prices took a sharp turn upward following six weeks of decreases, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.

Amarillo set a new record high on Thursday at $3.30 a gallon -- spiking nearly 22 cents in only one week. For the first time in a long time, Houston has the lowest average on the list at $2.83 a gallon -- up three cents.

The statewide average is $2.90 a gallon -- a weekly increase of five cents. The national average rose to $3.03 a gallon -- up eight cents.

AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch monitors the average price of gasoline in Texas.
